Privacy policy
How SoHappyPDF handles files, accounts, payments, and cookies. We keep this aligned with how the product works.

What we collect
SoHappyPDF processes PDFs and related files so you can convert, merge, compress, and otherwise transform them. We also store the account data needed to sign in, bill a plan, and issue API keys. We do not sell your files or account data.
Files you upload
Source files and results are stored in private object storage so the tool can run. They are scoped to your session or account. Temporary files expire after about two hours and are then deleted. The product is not a document archive — download results you need to keep.
Account data
If you create an account we store your email, name if you provide one, a hashed password, session data, recent activity, and API key metadata. We do not store the raw API key after it is shown once.
Payments
Checkout, invoices, and cards are handled by Polar. SoHappyPDF stores the subscription and credit-pack status needed to enforce Free, Pro, and API entitlements. Card numbers are not stored in SoHappyPDF.
Cookies
We use a small set of first-party cookies to remember language, keep an anonymous tool session, and keep you signed in. We do not run advertising pixels or analytics scripts on the marketing or app pages. Details are on the cookies page.
How long data stays
Tool files are kept for about two hours. Account, billing, and API key records stay until you close the account or we have to keep them for the payment provider or the law. You can ask us to delete an account by email.
Who else sees data
Files run through our application, worker, and private object storage. Polar processes payments. Hosting and email delivery providers see the technical data needed to run those services. We do not share files with other customers.
